Our Team
Upon our return to Brazil, we plan to work together with the Duarte family and the Schrock family.
The Duartes are veteran missionaries to the country of Brazil. Pastor Antonio Duarte is a national pastor and church planter who has served in Brazil for thirty years. Along with his wife Lawanda and his four children, they have pastored and planted churches in the suburbs of Cuiaba. Presently, the Duartes are in the middle of a church plant in the suburb of Pedra Noventa. The Remnant Baptist Church is fairly well established, but is yet in need of the training of some godly national leaders to be pastors and deacons. We plan to help in the establishment of this church during our time of language school and learning of the Brazilian culture. As God leads we will seek to branch out and plant other churches in the suburbs of Cuiaba.
The second family we will be working together with is Omar and Tracy Schrock. They also are members of Maranatha Baptist Church. It was while they were on a mission trip to the city of Cuiaba that God worked in our hearts to go as well. Omar was a fellow student trained at Ambassador Baptist College. He graduated from Ambassador in May of 2007 and plans to get to the field as soon as possible.
In an amazing way, God has led each of our families to work together to reach Brazil for Christ. Our goals are to continue evangelizing the suburb of Pedra Noventa and training the nationals of the Remnant Baptist Church until it is self supporting. After that is accomplished, we plan to branch out to several of the other communities that have no Independent Baptist Church. One at a time, we hope to see a church planted in every suburb of Cuiaba.
