Our Goals

Remnant-Baptist-ChurchOur goals are to continue evangelizing the suburb of Pedra Noventa and training the nationals of the Remnant Baptist Church until it is self supporting.  We also plan to start a Bible Institute out of the church to train young Brazilian men for the ministry.

After the Remnant Baptist Church is self supporting, we plan to base out of that church to several of the other communities that have no Independent Baptist Church.  One at a time, we hope to see a church planted in every suburb of Cuiaba.

We also hope to see an independent Baptist Church planted in each county of Mato Grosso.  The state of Mato Grosso is inhabited by 3 million people.  Out of 142 counties in the state only 14 have Independent Baptist Churches.

Also, as a part of our church planting ministries, it is our desire to open a children’s home as a ministry of the Remnant Baptist Church.  In 2006, there were approximately 4 million orphans in the country of Brazil.  Orphans are a huge part of the culture of Brazil and it would be wrong of us to ignore the need to reach them.  Many secular agencies from the United States have sought to help the orphans for purely philanthropic reasons.  It is not our goal to take them in just for the purpose of clothing and feeding them.  Rather, God has given us a great burden to take these orphans in while they are still young, train them up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD, and send out an army of young people to go and reach their own country with the Gospel.  Where are the laborers to go and reach Brazil?  We believe we have found many of them in the neglected orphans on the streets!

BoysMany other countries of the world would not allow a foreign missionary to take in homeless children and teach them the Scriptures.  But in Brazil, the authorities we spoke with were delighted at the thought.  James 1:27 says, Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
