Deputation UpdateSeptember 29, 2009 Dear Friends and Family, God has been gracious and given us much needed strength this past week. Even in the midst of our sickness God gave us strength, and our meetings went well. Last Sunday through Wednesday we were part of a mission conference in Hampton, GA, at the the church where Jeremy grew up as a boy. What a blessing it was for him to see many of those who influenced his life during his years there! Yesterday we had a good meeting in Orangeburg, SC, and then traveled home again today. We were encouraged when we received a call from another church in SC who voted to support us and also give us one year's support up front! This will be a great help towards our outfit and passage needs! Please be in prayer for us as we travel to Atlanta, GA tomorrow to begin the visa process with the Brazilian consulate. At 9:20 on Wednesday morning we will have the first appointment where they will go through our documents and legalize them. On Friday morning we will have another appointment where they will look through our legalized documents and send them off to the immigration department in Brazil. Please pray that we will be able to adequately communicate with those in the consulate's office and that they will accept all of our paperwork. Once the visas are granted we have 90 days to be in Brazil or the visas will no longer be valid. They say the process can take up to 6 months, but we are praying that they come through much quicker than that! We would ask that you take a few minutes the next couple of days and ask God that He do a work on our behalf! Thank you all for your prayers and faithful support!
