Deputation UpdateAugust 18, 2008 Dear Friends and Family, God has blessed us with another good week of deputation. On Wednesday, we had a meeting at the Temple Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC. This is the church where Jeremy did his internship five years ago during college. It was a blessing to fellowship with these dear people again! Lenoir is close enough that we could return home after the service. On Friday we packed the van for our next venture and arrived just south of Washington D.C. in a town called Lorton. We presented our work in a small church that was started three years ago, and they voted to take us on for support right after the service. An added blessing on Sunday was that Jeremy got to spend about thirty minutes at lunch witnessing to a man who had come to church to visit. This man had been involved in a rough life and thought he would come to church and try to clean himself up. He was under the impression that the church could save him. After about thirty minutes in the Scriptures, the light bulb came on, and he said that he finally understood the Gospel. “That very simple,” he said. Although he did not choose to trust Christ right then, he was delighted that he finally understood and wanted to go home and think about it some more. Please pray that Satan would not be able to snatch up the seed of God’s Word out of this man’s heart. This morning we are headed up to Maryland for another meeting. Please continue your prayers for us. Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support! With Grateful Hearts, Jeremy and Esther Lockhart |
