Deputation Update
6/23/2008
Dear Friends and Family,
These past couple weeks have been quite eventful and tiring, yet spiritually refreshing as well. A week ago from Wednesday we arrived in Leesburg, FL at the Grace Bible Baptist Church. One blessing of visiting this church was that Jeremy’s second cousin, Margie Wnuk and her husband Jerry, were members of the church. They had been missionaries to Brazil for about 25 years, and we were able to talk with them and learn much about Brazil. What a great encouragement they were to us!
On Saturday we arrived in Ocala, FL at the Memorial Baptist Church. We were privileged to have a part in their week long missions conference. We made many friends at this church and would have loved to stay longer. Pastor Mike West is one of the board members with our mission board, and at the same time the conference was going on the church hosted the Family Fellowship Week for World Wide New Testament Baptist Mission. There were 19 missionary families there during the week as well as most of the board members and directors. We had a great time of preaching each morning and enjoyed fellowshipping with some of the older missionaries that were home on furlough. The Lord taught us much this week through the great preaching, and although completely worn out at the end of the week, we were greatly encouraged in the Lord!
On Saturday we arrived in Conyers, GA for a meeting at the Philadelphia Baptist Church. We were able to reacquaint ourselves with some old friends there as well as fellowship with the pastor who grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil. We also found out last week that the Trinity Baptist Church of Wilson, NC voted us on for support. This was the first church we went to when we started out in January. What a blessing to have them take a part in supporting us! God has abundantly blessed us over these past months, and we are thankful that we can trust Him to get us to the place where He has called us!
Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support!
With Grateful Hearts,
Jeremy and Esther Lockhart
