Deputation Update

5/6/2008

Dear Friends and Family,

This past week brought us back up to Pennsylvania.  We spent Friday through Sunday at a mission conference in Lancaster, PA.  The Lancaster Independent Baptist Church was organized not quite three years ago when Pastor Tim York started services at the Holiday Inn.  What a joy to see God at work in the life of this new church!

After the service on Friday night we stayed with the Romanzi family, and our hearts were stirred as we heard their testimonies of salvation.  Mr. Romanzi grew up as a Catholic and his wife as a Jew.  How amazing it was to see how God worked in their lives to bring them to the knowledge of the truth!

On Saturday we had a church picnic at the community park.  One of the church kids had brought a cousin whose parents were involved in the church of Christ.  This young man’s name was Alex, and he asked me several questions concerning the Bible.  I was able to sit down with him and share the Gospel.  Although he did not trust Christ, I was able to sow the seed of God’s Word.  How it broke my heart to see the confusion placed in this young boy’s heart by the church of Christ.  How thankful I am that salvation is by grace through faith ALONE!

As we finished the conference on Sunday evening, the church was gracious in giving us many things useful for the ministry in Brazil.  We are also thankful to have gotten another projector and all the attachments necessary to show our presentation again.  God is good and has provided all the things necessary to fulfill that which He has called us to do!  Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support!

With Grateful Hearts,

Jeremy and Esther Lockhart
