Deputation Update4/7/2008 Dear Friends and Family, This past week of deputation has certainly been a joy! On Monday we had a long drive from Kreamer, PA to Burgaw, NC. The Bible Baptist Church of Burgaw had a mission apartment for us to stay in for the week. On Tuesday we had a family day, and the church paid our way to a nearby aquarium. We enjoyed watching our girls as they stared at all the fish in awe. On Tuesday and Thursday evening we enjoyed going on visitation with the church. On Wednesday, I was privileged to help the pastor in his weekly radio broadcast and then present our ministry to the church that evening. On Friday, I was allowed to go along with one of the men of the church to the local jail. What a joy it was to lead a man to Christ that day! Truly God has “chosen the poor of this world rich in faith.” We really enjoyed getting to be involved in the ministries of the church and look forward to the time when we can go to Brazil and do that full time! On Saturday we drove to Apex, NC for a meeting at the Catawba Springs Christian Church. What a blessing this church was to us! The church was founded in 1802, and two hundred and five years later, it is still preaching the Gospel! We shared our burden for Brazil on Sunday evening and then were able to spend some time talking with the pastor and his family. God has given much rest and strength this week, and as we have sought to be a blessing to those churches we were with, we have received even greater blessing in return! Blessed be the name of the LORD! Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support. With Grateful Hearts, Jeremy and Esther Lockhart |
