Deputation Update4/28/2008 Dear Friends and Family, Another week of deputation has passed and many blessings along with it! On Wednesday we left for Greensboro, NC to the Brookhaven Baptist Church. Pastor Fred Daniel and the church were very gracious to our family. This was a small country church, and we were reminded once again that no matter the area, whether country or city, rich or poor, young or old, God has the power to change lives and is at work in every place and every life at the same time! With great anticipation we look forward to the time when we can see this marvelous power at work in the lives of those we minister to in Brazil. On Thursday morning at about 5:30 we were awakened by a phone call from the front desk of the motel and informed that our van had been broken into and that the sheriff’s office was downstairs waiting. After a trip out to the parking lot, I found that our back window had been shattered and someone had stolen our bag with our video projector, DVD player, and cords and cables to connect it all to the sound system. The thief had also taken a book bag full of theology books – what a disappointment this must have been after they found the books! In spite of all this, we know that God is at work and are reminded that we must not fear them that are able to kill the body, but rather Him which is able to destroy both body and soul in hell! On Thursday we traveled from Greensboro, NC to Columbus, GA, and by 9:00 Friday morning our van window was repaired and ready for travel again! On Saturday, we left Columbus and drove to Lake Park, GA for a meeting at the Calvary Baptist Church. We had an excellent meeting there and are thankful that they had all the equipment necessary to show our video presentation! We also praise the LORD for the Bible Baptist Church of Kreamer, PA for their decision to take us on for financial support! Most of all we are thankful to the LORD for the safety He has given and for the joy and peace He gives as we seek to know Him better! Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support!
With Grateful Hearts, Jeremy and Esther Lockhart
