Deputation Update

3/24/2008

Dear Friends and Family,

This past week found us in Pigeon Forge, TN. Our mission board holds a candidate school for all the families that are new to the board or are thinking of joining.

The Freedom Baptist Church in Pigeon Forge graciously provided each missionary family a hotel room, food, and money for their travels. The directors as well as many of the board members were present to teach and challenge us. We learned much and are grateful for the many godly pastors on the board who gave of their time to teach and help us on our way!

While at the candidate school we were blessed to spend some time fellowshipping with Omar and Tracy Schrock. For those who do not know, we are planning to go together with this couple to Brazil as a team effort. They are sent out of our church as well, and we are excited about how the LORD has brought all this about.

On Wednesday evening we went to Freedom Baptist in Pigeon Forge along with four other missionary couples who stayed after the candidate school. Each of us were given a little time to present our ministry before the church. It is always an exciting thing to share with others what the LORD has done in our lives!

On Thursday, we traveled to Edinburg, VA to the Valley Baptist Church. We were able to share our burden for Brazil and preach the evening service. Pastor Bailey and the folks there treated us so kindly and have been amazingly generous to help us on our way. They have a very nice prophet’s chamber with a place to do laundry and even a stove and oven to cook our meals! What a blessing to have a few home cooked meals and a nice place to do laundry!

We are thankful today that our Savior is ALIVE! He still has the power to change lives and save souls! Praise the LORD for His wonderful works among the children of men! Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support!

With Grateful Hearts,

Jeremy and Esther Lockhart
