Deputation Update

October 13, 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

Another week of mission conferences has ended, and we have been blessed to hear some good preaching and have some fellowship with other missionaries.

Last Monday and Tuesday we were part of a conference in Stratton, Maine. This was in a very small town up in the mountains of western Maine. We enjoyed getting to spend some time with the Lynn family from our home church, the Northcutt family that we went to school with, and Pastor Bruce Townsend who also went to school with us. It is always a blessing to see familiar faces!

On Wednesday we drove to Toms River, NJ to begin another mission conference. We arrived at the motel late that evening and checked in. As soon as we walked into our room we received a call from the front desk telling us that they had made a mistake and wanted to know if it would be okay if we stayed in a suite instead. Trying not to sound too excited Jeremy said, “I guess that will work.” You can imagine what a blessing it was to have this extra space in our room for five days! When you live in a room with two kids that need naps every day, any extra space is something to get excited over. Esther always prays before we go to a meeting that God will give us a comfortable place to stay, and it seems that God always answers her prayer!

We finished up this conference yesterday and are packing up for our next meeting in Massachusetts. Please pray for us as we present our burden for Brazil to four more churches this week. We need strength and wisdom as we go to each church and are asking that God provide us with some new support.

Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support!

With Grateful Hearts,

Jeremy and Esther Lockhart
